Rules Changes for 2006

The rules committee has ruled on the following changes:

Allow senior tees - This was voted down. Too much trouble keeping additional course info (slope, course rating, etc.)
Team net when each team has a BLIND is based on present players only (Section 8.5) - Approved
Limit match postponements - This was voted down. Nobody had a better idea than what is currently covered in the rules.
All unplayed holes can optionally be tied (Section 10.1) - Approved
Limit gimme length to 'inside the leather' or approximately 18 inches - This was voted down. USGA Rule 2-4: A player may concede his opponent's next stroke at any time provided the opponent's ball is at rest.
Allow GPS and range finders (Section 17.9) - This was voted down. It did not get a majority in the opinion poll.
Play it down (no winter rules) in league play (Section 17.2) - Approved. It got a majority in the opinion poll.
