Rules Changes for 2017

The Rules Committee is considering the following change(s):

• 15.4 A player shall not spend more than 5 minutes looking for a lost ball. The time limit should be changed to lesser time (i.e. 2-3 minutes). Some people spend too much time looking for their lost golf ball. This is a rule that the USGA is looking to change. The time limit that they are proposing is 3 minutes.

We will adopt this rule change when USGA does.

• Update the player seniority algorithm. It works for the Tuesday division since that group is static, whereas the other day is not. The other day is comprised of players that played on different past days, courses. The IGL used to have as many as 4 divisions. Now it's just the solid Tuesday group and one other division. So player seniority should be based on years played and the number of matches (league or league and tournament).

Division seniority will be based on Divison 1 scores and "Other".
